Happy 2018, y’all! What does everyone have going on this week?! Mine still looks the same as last week and the week before (gosh – I’m so interesting!). As I mentioned in this post – it’s currently bar prep season until March 1st, meaning I am pretty much on lockdown study mode. It’s definitely an interesting experience spending 10-12 hours at a desk every single day, but thankfully it’s temporary! (Also shoutout to whoever created this bike desk that is so helpful in keeping me semi-sane and healthy!)
Earlier this fall, knowing that this intensive time would be coming up quickly, I really wanted to finish my office area as much as possible before I wouldn’t have the time to in January. Organized, bright, and airy spaces not only help my focus, but they definitely boost my mood, so I’m happy that overall that’s how this space feels. At this point, there are still a few small changes I would like to make, but they will just have to be things to look forward to in March 🙂
I hope you all are having a wonderful start to the new year! Although my response time is definitely slower right now, I still love to read your comments and kind messages 🙂 Thank you all for your patience and continued support of this blog – starting this new year with all of you is one of the sweetest gifts!
Hey y’all, happy Wednesday :). This project took a total of 15 minutes to complete – seriously! It’s definitely my fastest DIY/hack to date! As most of you know, I love marble and gold home projects, and this one absolutely has a significant impact on any space you choose to use it in – whether a home office, glam room, or even a closet! If you’re ready to get started, the 3 easy steps and supplies are included below – if not, pin the image above to save the project for later!
Step 1: Following the included instructions, completely assemble the set of drawers, skipping only the drawer pull step. (I installed the drawer pulls without thinking – lolz – so don’t waste your time doing the same thing!)
Step 2: Wipe down and dry the top of the dresser. This removes any dust and allows for your contact paper to adhere more securely! Next, line up your marble contact paper, and cut to size **Be sure to leave enough overlap to fold the marble sticker down underneath the edges. Then, using your putty knife, apply and smooth out the contact paper. Cut a single slit at the edge of the front corners, if needed, for folding the sticker and applying it to the drawer set.
Step 3: Add your brass pulls, securing them with your screwdriver.
Step 4: You’re done! Now, where to place your beautiful DIY?! It’s great in a home office, vanity area, glam room, bedroom, or even in your closet for some extra luxe 🙂
For extra inspo, I’ve included some fun options below:
Merry, Merry! As I’m typing this post, there is literal snow falling outside my window! As a Charlotte native, and now Winston-Salem resident, I can’t remember ever having had snow this early in the winter season – so it’s been an extra treat today 🙂
There is something so magical about the Christmas season, between all the lights and cozy decor, it’s such an extra special time with friends and family. This year, we have loved getting out some of our main pieces from past years, like our silver deer head, and this pre-lit garland. We’ve also been pretty pumped about adding in some of our more recent finds including the ivory and silver rug, chandelier, and these amazing tapered candles – y’all they flicker so beautifully and operate via remote control, which is super helpful when placing them in hard to reach areas! Putting everything together has been fun, and as you can see, Toby keeps trying his best to get in as many shots as possible! The faux fur pouf he’s sitting on is one of my favorite new pieces that will absolutely be out all winter (possibly all year!) long. This weekend, it will surely be put to extra use, since we were definitely not expecting to be snowed-in – but with 4 inches and counting, it’s looking like it may just be our new plan! For more holiday decor inspo, check out the latest Seasonal Centerpiece post 🙂 Hope you all are having a wonderful, happy, and warm weekend!
Happy December, y’all! The fact that it is now December, and almost 2018 is seriously blowing my mind, and I feel like I should already be thinking of new year goals but honestly I’m just trying to survive this last month of 2017! I wanted to share our quick and simple wreath and ornament Christmas centerpiece for similar reasons to the Easy Glam Halloween Centerpiece post – the winter holidays can often feel like an insane season of playing catchup to everyone else! Time seems to go by so much more quickly, and a lot of that is ideally due to super fun reasons, like holiday parties and time with friends/family, but some of it is also usually due to the fact that the sun sets at 5:30 pm (AKA the worst thing about Winter, ever).
If you’re a regular follower of Blonde Boss Babe, here are a couple quick updates that you might (hopefully) find interesting and/or like to know:
Blonde Boss Babe has been officially accepted to rewardStyle – meaning you can now shop all the linked Instagram/Facebook/Pinterest images & more to browse/purchase the items in my posts directly. Y’all, this is the MOST convenient thing on the planet. If you don’t have the Liketoknow.it app already, I strongly recommend downloading it – even if you don’t necessarily prefer what I personally post, there are so many amazing bloggers you can follow through the app. For instance, Morgan with Timeless Taste, has amazing home decor posts, fashion, recipes, and more for you to enjoy and browse through – I love her blog, and her instagram feed is just gorgeous – so you’ll definitely be glad you downloaded the Liketoknowit.app to peruse all of her linked beauties.
I AM FINALLY GRADUATING LAW SCHOOL. Holla Praize, y’all. The *~SuPeR~* blessed day will be taking place December 16th and I can’t wait! Immediately after, I will begin bar exam preparation. This is a 2 month process of extremely fun isolation aka studying for the February NC Bar exam. What this means for the blog: Ironically, it means more consistent posts – I have a lot of content that has been prescheduled for this two-month period, which is actually the reason why the past couple of months have been a little bit (actually a lot) less abundant in posts. So unfortunately, what this also means is that my response time will be significantly slower for emails, comments, and the like. I definitely still encourage you to send any questions you may have about any item shared or any DIY post, but please allow me some grace in the amount of time I may take in responding 🙂
Thank you all for reading and supporting this passion of mine on this little corner of the Internet. I am so amazed by all the ways this tiny blog has grown in its first year of existence, and so unbelievably grateful for all you, without whom such growth would not have even had a chance. Looking forward to stepping into this next season with you all <3
