The Best Pre-Summer Sale You Won’t Want to Miss!

EEK we are so close to summer y’all! With Memorial Day weekend celebrations, warm weather, bare feet, and fireflies at night, I can barely take the anticipation! Yet, even though I love this season so much, I am definitely a “Fall wardrobe” kind of girl – meaning my closet is bursting with sweaters and skinny jeans, but not necessarily summer wedges, shorts, and dresses. Thankfully, Nordstrom is having an AMAZING sale right now through June 4 that helps anyone stock up on summer essentials, AND snag a great Father’s Day gift!

After stocking up my shopping cart, and my wish list, I thought I would share with y’all my top selections  from this sale! (Click any image to shop!)

  • First, this flowy Lush tunic is perfect for even the most humid of summer days – comfortable, breezy, and flattering – I’m in love.
  • Another major trend this season is the cold shoulder look! This featured Lush Cold Shoulder Top  (less than $22!) is one I love. It shows enough skin to enjoy the summery season, yet is totally appropriate for a variety of settings and events.
  • Last but not least, Satin yes please –  gimme all of it! Sometimes it’s way too hot in the evening for a normal cardigan but you just want something on your arms, and this Hinge Satin Kimono Jacket is perfect for exactly that (seriously counting down the seconds till mine arrives).

3 Summer Skincare Essentials

NORDSTROM - Vacation Style Destination

It’s hard to believe we are almost halfway through May! In preparing for the upcoming summer season, it’s so important to have a great skincare routine and dependable makeup staples that won’t smear everywhere when you’re out in the hot sun. The following are 3 essentials from Lancôme that will keep you and your skin feeling great this summer:

•     •     •    •    •    •    •    •    •     •     •

Lancôme Bienfait UV SPF 50+ Oil-free Sunscreen

The first (and hopefully last – oops!) sunburn of the season last month quickly reminded me that it is definitely PAST time to start re-incorporating sunscreen into my daily skin and makeup routines.

I have SUPER sensitive skin though and have had the hardest time finding a facial sunscreen that actually provides protection without causing massive breakouts. Lancôme Bienfait UV SPF 50+ oil-free sunscreen is the first facial sunscreen I’ve been able to use without causing the latter. For the past month, I’ve applied it under my makeup and was so surprised, BUT very pleased, to find that not only did it not interfere with my foundation, but it didn’t irritate my skin either. This past weekend, J and I spent well over 3 hours outside doing yard work, and while he unfortunately got torched, I came inside burn-free. (hehe)

Lancôme Visionnaire Crescendo™

Speaking of sensitive acne-prone skin (my fave), summer heat does me no favors in that department either. Like anyone, I always want bright, healthy skin. However, I have to be careful not to be too harsh with peels that promise “instantly brighter” results. That usually means I’m burning my face off in one round. No good. The Lancôme Visionnaire Crescendo™ peel was a 28-day process. Super easy to apply, and left on overnight, the peel works to gently exfoliate skin surface cells through two different formulas. YES, two! I’m obsessed. I just completed Day 28 two days ago, and y’all my skin is soooo smooth – my makeup literally looks airbrushed. Go Lancôme go!

•     •     •    •    •    •    •    •    •     •     •

Lancôme Matte Shaker Lipstick

The third essential is arguably the most fun because who doesn’t love a good summer lipstick?! After testing the Lancome Matte Shaker Lipstick out, I found that it was not as moisturizing as a non-matte lipstick (for obvious reasons) but it definitely didn’t feel nearly as drying as the Kylie Jenner matte lipsticks did – nor did the formula feel as heavy/thick. I really enjoyed the smoother application, and love the little shaker bottle especially since I felt like I had more control over building the level of color while not wasting as much product.

Italy Photo Diary Preview

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

This past week has been such a whirlwind, but I’m so excited to share with you all a few snaps from my time in Italy. Here’s a quick preview of Part 1, focused in Florence, Italy 🙂

Our trip began in Florence, Italy. As anyone would expect, it was beautiful and was full of fantastic food and views. Like many cities in Europe, most of its streets are cobblestone. In light of that, I definitely recommend comfortable shoes for walking, as well as a Fitbit to keep track of how far you’ve gone.

Pictured above is my Fitbit Charge 2, showing what would typically be my average for a full day in the US, already surpassed by 10:41 AM in Italy (UGH bless). For this trip I didn’t want to have a big and bulky wristband in all of my pictures so I ordered this Gold Replacement Band & I love it so much I have yet to switch it back.

More to come!
